    @Silver Nice job on the clean and re-build. If you ever want to moonlight as a Reo repair technician, send me a PM. Turnaround time for US jobs may be a bit slow, but you could handle S.A. ;)

    Lol thanks so much @Eric Parlin
    Imagine that!

    Anyway, I am just so glad it turned out okay and I feel a bit more confident now to tackle the next one.

    One thing is for sure , my Reos are certainly my most precious vape devices especially for my tobacco MTL vaping. Couldn't do without them. And they are spectacular.

    @Eric Parlin, I really enjoyed my reos bit found the carbon build-up from arcing was getting serious with 0.2 to 0.3 ohm builds.
    Are you considering a bigger leaf or a leaf that can be sanded/polished in the future as I was lazy to constantly add noalax to the leaf?

    Its the next day and am pleased to report that my Reo Silver is working well
    Fire button feels smoother. I cleaned out the inside of the button hole nicely and i suspect there was some grime in there that made the fire button action not feel smooth. Its now buttery smooth.

    Am planning on doing a full clean on my other Reos over time but just want to analyse something a bit further beforehand. I think i only have one more spare spring so i cant afford several more spring screw stripping incidents.

    @Eric Parlin and other Reonauts - @Petrus, @GregF , @Alex

    I am trying to understand why that spring screw stripped.
    • Was it just too tight and over the years it jammed?
    • Was it perhaps me using a screwdriver that wasnt the right size? Ie too small?
    • Or maybe a cheap screwdriver? I was using the one i use to tighten the post screws on my RM2 atty. Its a fairly cheap Rolson one that has all the attachments.
    • Or was it that I let it slip and didnt push in hard enough while trying to loosen it?

    Or do you think next time I should move that plate first and spray some Q20 lubricant BEFORE trying to unscrew and also use a slightly bigger screwdriver? That ECF thread made reference to a Philips size 1 head.

    I am just not too sure and want to be a bit more comfortable about what happened before I attempt the next one.

    Any ideas ?

    @Silver, I have found that a philips screwdriver tends to strip my screws, I think it's because of my ten thumbs, now I use a smaller flat head screwdriver with more success.

    Ok thanks @Petrus, are you saying a philips strips that spring screw on the Reo or screws in general?

    This is a good point, never thought of that - i must investigate further

    Hi @Christos - Yes, we are definitely considering different possibilities with the positive contacts (larger surface area, different materials/finishes, etc.) to be able to help avoid the carbon build up. I've gotten some great suggestions from a few other Reonauts - it's just a matter of timing and costs to get sample runs built and tested. I'll keep everyone here informed as we make progress.

    @Eric Parlin, I still think that if you can fit silver contacts in the P67, it will be one if not the best squonker.

    Hi @Eric Parlin, happy new year and thanks for the opportunity to make direct contact in this way.

    I have been browsing the Reosmods website (https://reosmods.glopal.com/en-ZA/p-642/grand-body-lp-tumbled.html) and have a question regarding what is included when purchasing one of these mods. The individual titles pertinently state "body" as in the example above so does that mean bottles etc. need to be purchased separately? I understand batteries and atties will not be included but besides these items what would I need to include in my order to receive a fully fledged working setup?

    Best Regards

    @Raindance go here instead.
    https://www.reosmods.com/product-category/mods/
    You should be able to select a grand and also select your door preference.

    Other than that you need a bf atty and away you go.
    Always a good idea to have a spare fire leaf and a negative contact spring as backups.

    And magnets because when one falls out you will not find it. Get at least 2 but they are cheap enough so get 4.

    You can also look at a service kit. Basically everything you need, oh and get some spare bottles. But I must admit, I have so many spares and all is still sealed. A Reo can't break my friend. :campeon:

    Good question @GregF . Primarily because I haven't loaded them up on the machine to slot them out. I was thinking of doing something different with the slots - maybe running them top to bottom instead of side to side. What are your thoughts?

    I put some slotted doors up against my P67 at 90deg to have a look. It could be quite nice but then I realised I would need to start a whole new door collection :eek:

    @Eric Parlin why the name P67?
    Is it supposed to mean something?

    I don't have a clue. That's what Rob named it and it's what people have called it for a while now, so we left it alone.

    It does sound a bit better than calling it "Reo Grand with flat-top, side button, and curved back" though, doesn't it? I think the short version would be the Reo Grand FT/SB/CB, which is still a mess.
