Hi Ecigssa members, In this review i take a look at the Tuck Shop range of e-liquids from Dinner Lady. The e-liquids were supplied for the purpose of this review by Ellie from Dinner Lady.

Introduction

When i started vaping i tended to stick to very cheap e-liquid, not just because of the obvious that it was cheap but i had tried various flavours from large manufacturers and had come to the conclusion that the word "Premium" was just an added word to justify a higher price tag. Then a mate said "you have got to try this" and let me try some of his latest purchase that he just wouldn't stop singing the praises of. I reluctantly tried it, i was only reluctant because i don't tend to like Lemon flavoured e-liquids but it blew me away and made me much more interested in exploring different e-liquid brands. The e-liquid was "Lemon Tart" by Dinner Lady and i love it to this day.
Since then the small manufacturer from Blackburn, Lancashire have grown into a Global success winning award after award and their e-liquids are vaped all over the world. They have managed to gain this success by simply doing what they set out to do from the start which is to create great authentic tasting flavours that tap into peoples "nostalgia" which is a word Dinner Lady talk about a lot, because it sums up their brand perfectly.
Despite this growth Dinner Lady have stuck to only releasing small quality ranges of e-liquid rather than flooding the market with flavour after flavour losing their special quality like so many of the large manufacturers. As far as i am concerned Dinner Lady are still a small manufacturer from Blackburn in as far as they have not sold out and chased the money, the money has chased them by simply releasing cracking flavours.

Tuck Shop Range

Dinner Lady have four ranges of e-liquids which consist of their original Dessert range, Summer Holidays range and Tuck Shop range all of which are 70VG/30PG and are available in 0mg, 3mg and 6mg. The fourth is a Tobacco range that are 50/50 and come in either 3mg, 6mg, 12mg or 18mg.

The Tuck Shop Range of e-liquids that were sent for review consists of the following flavours:

Watermelon Slices

Sweet Fusion

Lemon Sherbets

Bubble Trouble

Apple Sours

I received the range in a sturdy high quality decorative tin which will be very useful, unfortunately my wife thought exactly the same and has nicked it. The flavours came in 30ml Gorilla bottles with oversized squared coloured tops giving them a unique look, the ratio of all the flavours are made to be 70VG/30PG once the nicotine or part nicotine shot is added (depending on which mg you purchase).
I received the 3mg versions which consist of 25ml of e-liquid in 30ml bottles so half a 10ml 18mg nicotine shot needs to be added to each making the final e-liquids 30ml, with a 3mg nicotine strength.

Testing Equipment

I added half a nic shot to each of the five flavours making them all 30ml with a 3mg nicotine strength, i steeped for 10 days and tested the flavours on 2 different set-ups. The set-ups used are identical to the testing equipment i used when testing some previous Dinner Lady e-liquids to keep some consistency.

The first set-up was the Wotofo Profile Unity RTA on the Augvape VX200. I used nexMESH and my build came out to 0.12ohm and i vaped at 70w.

The second set-up was the Oumier Wasp Nano RTA on the Lost Vape Mirage. The pre-wound coil didn't have detailed specs but was a 3.0ID fused clapton that came out at 0.20ohm and i vaped at 35w.

The same coil/mesh were used for each flavour but the cotton was replaced.

The cotton used was jellyfish.

Pictures of equipment used but not at the time of testing.

How I Found The Flavours?

Sweet Fusion

Smelling the open bottle mixed fruits is evident but other than Strawberry which is definitely present the other fruit is just merged, also there is a freshness present that surprisingly given the name of the flavour has a very slight sour tanginess. The inhale is sweet but yes in the background their is a touch of sour which makes the e-liquid quite refreshing, Strawberry is the most identifiable fruit present but with each vape more fruits become detectable, Raspberry is present along with Apple and most noticeably a sweet not sour Lime. The exhale see's all fruits merge together in the background apart from sweet Strawberry which is very dominant. The aftertaste is mainly sweet Strawberry, the sour is no longer present but a hint of Lime reappears. This flavour isn't quite what i expected but the better for it.

SCORE 9.25/10

Apple Sours

Smelling the open bottle crisp tangy Apple steals the show with sweet candy in the background. On the inhale the candy type flavour is very evident but now rather than sweet has a real tangy sourness to it with Apple very evident sharing the limelight. The exhale see's the Apple dominate and become so authentic it is just like biting into a crisp fresh apple. The sour candy is still present but now the sweetness that was present when smelling the e-liquid makes an appearance taking the edge of the sourness leaving a very pleasant aftertaste. Wow best Apple flavour i have had to date.

SCORE 9.5/10

Watermelon Slices

Smelling the open bottle the aroma of refreshing Watermelon is unmistakable. The inhale, exhale and aftertaste is consistent throughout with this e-liquid which is a very authentic fresh Watermelon but i really don't get the Watermelon sweet slices at all. I personally like Watermelon but not as an e-liquid flavour yet it has all been used as my wife loved this flavour but also agreed it was a fresh refreshing Watermelon taste and nothing else. This gets a low score but doesn't mean it's a bad flavour, i simply don't like Watermelon e-liquid flavours.

SCORE 7/10

Bubble Trouble

Smelling the open bottle i got a sought of bubble gum aroma but not quite the aroma i expected. On the inhale it became evident the type of Bubble Gum is the round balls with fruit flavoured hard shells that Dinner Lady either went for or ended up with. The inhale and exhale stays consistent throughout, the bubble gum flavour is definitely their as well as a cocktail of fruit but what gave it the strange aroma is the surprising presence of Banana which being a Banana fan, no complaints from me. This is a love it or hate it flavour but it gets the thumbs up from me.

SCORE 9.25/10

Lemon Sherbets

Smelling the open bottle there is no mistaking the Lemon which has both sweet but mainly sour coming through. The inhale is massive on flavour and if you like sour flavours you will like this. Very authentic Lemon sharing the stage with a sour sherbet with some Zest of the Lemon thrown in for good measure. It actually made me pull my face with the sourness which made my wife say "is that awful" so i informed her "no it's amazing". The exhale allowed me to straighten my face as sweetness came through taking over from the sour giving more of a plain Lemon boiled sweet flavour. The aftertaste see's a continuation of the exhale with just a touch of Sherbet reappearing. I don't tend to like Lemon flavoured e-liquids but i loved Dinner Lady's Lemon Tart and yet again with this Lemon flavour they have nailed it.

SCORE 9.75/10

Conclusion

A fantastic range of e-liquids, unfortunately i don't like Watermelon flavours so the Watermelon Slices just were not for me but the other 4 i found to be top notch with Apple Sours and Lemon Sherbets being the stand out flavours for me.

I would once again like to thank Ellie from Dinner Lady for supplying the Tuck Shop range for the purpose of this review.
