Mr @Rob Fisher is the GB king, so I am hoping for some logistical advice, please?

They have three products available:

1) 50pcs VIK Cotton 3mm ID (Website price $8.99 per pack)
2) 50pcs VIK Cotton 2.5mm ID (Website price $8.99 per pack)
3) VIK Case with 24pcs cotton and a pair of scissors ($12.80 per case)

The prices for the cotton in bulk (what we should be aiming for) look as follows:
1) 40 - 49 packs of cotton - $6.80 per pack
2) 50 - 99 packs of cotton - $6.20 per pack
3) 100+ packs of cotton - $5.50 per pack

NOTE: no additional discount was listed for the VIK Case, but I can ask if there is enough interest.
DHL shipping to Jhb for 40-70 packs is offered at $35.00 from VIK Cotton.

@Ash.dbn , @Room Fogger @klipdrifter @SmokeyJoe @Vaporator00 @Humbolt @Cornelius @MrGSmokeFree @Faiyaz Cheulkar @CaliGuy

If you are interested, please reply to this post with the number of each ID type you would like and please tag any other forum member who you think may be interested as well. If any of the stores would like to get involved, that would be great and an easy way for us to get up to that max discount bracket.

I think 2 and 2 is good, I was thinking the same thing as well. I hope we can get enough guys to at least get to that 40 pack mark!

Thank you for making this happen @CJB85. Do we know how long a wick is?

Please put me down for 2 x 2.5mm ID and 1 x VIK Case.

I am in for :)
1. 2 × 2.5 mm I.D.
2. 1 Case, 2.5 mm

Thanks for doing this @CJB85!

I would like the following to give it a test run!
1 x Vik Case with 2.5mm
3 x 2.5mm

Just remember that there may be documentation charges and VAT of 15% when it lands.
Also when shipping by The Courier Guy that the cost of shipping will range from R90.50 right up to R200 depending on where you ship to.

Thank you, yes I need all the advice I can get... the last online shopping I did from abroad, I managed to accidentally ship to Botswana instead of South Africa... Don't ask.

I am more concerned about taking responsibility for other members' money at this point and it turns out to be a bogus company. Is there any way that we can do some due diligence on them, by asking for company registration docs, or something similar?

I think as soon as we have numbers, we can iron out the finer details such as forwarding the parcels to other areas etc. I just don't want to send a few hundred dollars to Thailand, only to see it disappear.

2 × 2.5 mm I.D
1 x 3 mm ID
1 x VIK case with 3mm ID cotton in it ?
@CJB85 can you check with them the ID of the cotton that comes with the case.

I wouldn't mind getting in for:
  • The case with scissors (is there a choice of the included cotton I-D size when buying the case ?)
  • Some 3mm cotton
worst case is i'll end with with a decent enough carry case to hold cut up pieces of my royal wick and scissors :)

Your choice, so you will order either a 2.5ID, or 3ID case.

I just read your post. My order will be

2 × 2.5 mm I.D
1 x 3 mm ID
1 x VIK case with 3mm ID cotton in it

Yes, you can choose either one of the two diameters when ordering the case.

I think we must just make 100% sure how legit this company is before any payment is made to them. There website is a little vague and yet there facebook page is buzzing with likes?

1 x vik case 3mm cotton for me then. Just in case the company is not legit

would you like to take over uncle @Rob Fisher ? I am sure @CJB85 wont mind given that you have much more experience doing GB`s than all of us put together.

I agree 100%...

Pass... they are going to class me as an importer if I keep doing these GB's...
Yeah - i got a shipment held back recently as well.. legislation if followed through works as follows:

"Buy more than three items from online international retail sites, such as Amazon, in the space of a year and you will automatically become an official importer in the eyes of Sars — and you will need to apply for a special code before getting your hands on your purchases.

Since 2013‚ the amended Customs and Excise Act has allowed South Africans to "import" no more than three "consignments" from overseas — with a value of less than R50‚000 — in a calendar year without registering with customs. In other words‚ if you bring four or more overseas purchases into the country during the course of a year‚ you need to apply for what’s referred to as an importer’s code."
