Discussion Paper: Taxation of Electronic Nicotine Non-Nicotine Delivery Systems (Vaping)

This is sickening. The cherry-picking applied in quoting reporting and ‘studies’ is completely biased and alarmist.

It should be expected of Treasury that they will make every effort to squeeze additional taxes out of the consumer. It should not be expected that they do so at the expense of the truth.

So they want to charge excise anywhere between just over R1 per ml to R346 per 120ml bottle of juice?

Good luck with that. All it will do is increase trade in the parallel market and blackmarket.

...they should tax R1 per ml nic used, not the vg/pg/concentrates.
That seems way more fair. :worried:

Guess Discovery Health moet sterk staan, I need nic to focus.
Medical condition can be faked (I just need to remember I need Nic)

"Nicotine has a lot of therapeutic uses. There's growing evidence that it may be useful in treating Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's - their level of concentration, their ability to focus.

Exactly my point! ... a large proportion of smokers / vapers use nicotine as a milder time selective medication for ADD, as apposed something like Concerta, Ritalin, Focalin, Quillivant, Stattera, or even ... Evekoo, Adderall and Dexadrine ...which are friggen potent amphetamines, and "bomb you out" for hours!
