Adding More Participants to a Conversation

Wanting to start a conversation with about ten people, but it would only let me add five. Anyone know how I can change this? Am I being old?

One of which is to help prevent abuse of the system

I am in private conversations that have more than 5 participates in them, including one that I started. Guess it depends on who invites you/you invite to them.

The permissioning system is quite complex and has evolved over time.
