Hi all

This review is also long overdue.

Have bought a number of times from VapourMountain. For those who don't know, VapourMountain is a local retailer based in Cape Town. It is run by Benji, also known as @Oupa on this forum. He specialises in his own range of ready-made vaping juices under the VapourMountain label. @Oupa is also a full agent/reseller of eCiggies, which means he stocks a wide variety of vaping gear.

I have bought and tried most of his ready-made juice flavours. I generally love them. A few of his flavours are my current all day vape. You can read my and other reviews of the VapourMountain (VM) juices in the E-Liquid review threads. This post focuses more on the retailer aspect than individual juices.

Since sampling most of the flavours, I have repurchased the ones I like a few times. I am based in JHB, so all orders have been via courier delivery. My purchases at VapourMountain have mainly been juice related, so I am not going to focus on the vaping gear aspect.

Knowledge and product - I think @Oupa is a master at juices. He has being doing it for a long time and clearly understands his field. His juices are really good. As I said above, about 4 or 5 of them are currently my all day vape. They are well packaged and labelled. Although the caps are not child-deterrent, they work very well for me. I just returned from a business trip and can say with confidence the bottles do not leak. I closed them tightly and put them in a zip lock bag in my check in luggage. They came out perfectly the other side without any moisture in the bag.

Variety, choice and availability - @Oupa has a good range of juices in his current lineup. Mostly fruity and dessert types but a nice variety. He offers them in 10ml samples and bigger 30ml bottles. The 10ml samples are perfect for tasting and discovering what you like. Took me quite a while to get through most of them. There are also DIY mixing kits available with additional flavours. I think the variety is ample for those that want to try out the DIY thing. VapourMountain is soon launching their new Legends range - more complex juices with tobacco flavours as well. That will be a welcome addition to the menu.

Authenticity - no easy way for me to know if what goes into these juices is guaranteed to be safe and of high quality, but I have to take @Oupa's word. He assures me that he only uses the best possible ingredients of the highest quality. They taste great and I haven't noticed any negative signs. @Oupa is also very pedantic about cleanliness and hygiene when mixing his juices.

Pricing is very good - his 30ml bottles in the current range work out to be a low R4/ml. This is about the lowest price I have found for locally available juices. In many cases it's a lot cheaper. There is no doubt that the price is good but what is amazing is the quality you are getting. At this price and quality it makes a sustainable vaping solution for me.

Service is good. @Oupa is always just an email away and is very helpful over the phone. I recall when I was new at vaping and was asking lots of questions (which I now think were quite "dumb"), he was very patient and helpful. Recently, when I was on a business trip in CT, I thought I was going to run out of one of my favourite VM juice flavours. No problem for @Oupa, he mixed me a bottle that evening and got it delivered to my hotel the next morning. Superb service!

Delivery - haven't had a problem on any of my deliveries. They take a bit longer from Cape Town, which is understandable. But for example, my last order was sent on a Friday and arrived here in JHB on the Monday morning. I can't complain.

Packaging - all juices are carefully packed in a sturdy good looking cardboard box with Leopard stripes on it. Seems like the vaping community likes the leopard theme ;-) Bubble wrap and careful use of tape makes for a spill free experience. To date, I have not received any juice or DIY ingredients that had spilled in transit. To top it off, my name is on a label that seals the box. Nice touch.

Areas for improvement

- no web site - I know @Oupa is working on one to be launched soon. But not having a website is a negative. At least the juice range is always available on the VapourMountain section of the forum. The other problem of not having a website is that the ordering process is a bit disjointed. You email @Oupa your order. Then he sends you an invoice. It doesn't take long - perhaps the next day, but then by the time you get the invoice, you may be busy and you don't remember to pay. It's nicer to do it all at once, when you have the time. So having a website will solve the problem and probably make it much easier for him as well.

- with all the talk about the VM juices, I think there is not enough awareness that VapourMountain carries the full range of eCiggies gear too. I think the website will solve that. Always nice to know you can slip in some extra coils or perhaps even a new tank with your VM juice order - and save on the courier fee, not having to order these items separately.

Overall, I can strongly recommend VapourMountain as an excellent source of great tasting locally made juices.

I held back for sometime because there was no web site and no ecommerce but based on the reviews I finally cracked and ordered some juice and did the bank transfer and emails back and forth... Man O Man I'm glad I did because VM Juices are the bomb and I have no doubt that their juices are world class... in fact I would say they are top of the world class... I haven't tasted juices as good anywhere else yet.

I'm that confident in @Oupa's juices that anything he produces I will buy a 30ml bottle straight away... I may favour some of his juices over others but there isn't one in the current range that I will end up giving away.

Benji even made me a special Candyfloss mix when I asked him to...

All Vaping shops should carry his Juice. Period. End of Story! Finish and Klaar.

Love your comments Rob

Have ordered both juices and DIY stuff from Vapour Mountain for a few months now. Their service has not once been below 5 star. @Oupa has attended our Cape Vape Meet and had his full array of products there as well as samples of his new line for tasting and given out for free. Their juices compare to the best in the world at not greedy prices.

That's amazing @Matthee - when you word it like that we can all be proud of @Oupa !

Great review, Silver! I have just placed my first order with him, for a 'standard mixing kit', and am impatiently awaiting its arrival. Do agree about the website, it would definitely simplify matters - I ordered 30ml of no nic VG from eCiggies to complement the order, before realising that I could have included it in one order.

The approximate cost of the juice I'll get out of this order is R2.00/ml, which is extremely cheap. And if it's as good as everyone says, this is a huge win! Go Oupa! :D

Will be ordering from him soon , cant wait coz there's so many good things being said about VM

I ordered from him and i was impressed on the fast shipping . Service as well is been awesome with him calling me a couple of time to make sure the order was ok.
I would recommend it to anybody ( and in cape town if you want you can even collect )

I'm also a massive fan of his juices and to date all my interactions have been extremely positive.

Just waiting for the Legend range, which I'm sure is just going to be awesome!

Placed my very first order last week Thursday quite simply because of all the raving on about VM's juices, thanks to this forum i didn't have to ask a million questions beforehand. Initially i was a little frustrated as Payfast was not working after trying to checkout, i think it was payfast itself and the problem was unrelated to VM's website. I promptly emailed my order through, shortly after i received an invoice and confirmed order. I noticed that shipping was free which was also a huge plus! So far so good and i am happy with there service i have received so far. I cannot comment on shipping or delivery yet until i receive my order. My one and only concern is that they still do not have a tracking number for me, I have been advised via email that it will be sent once they have it.

@Shaun All VM's juices are made fresh when you order, this means there is a lead time of 2-4 days before the order gets shipped. It is well worth the wait though and I'm sure you will not be disappointed :D?

Also keep in mind that due to the juices being made fresh, steeping them is recommended. I battle to hold myself back though :p?

I dont think ill be able to hold back either:D and i need to start using at least one straight away, this is my first vape experience!

A huge thank you to @Oupa and Chrystel from VM

You guys have put up with one special request after the other from me and always been perfectly polite and eager to comply. I wanted to let you guys know that it has paid off. Switching to vaping has been a bit of a challenge for my wife. We eventually discovered she is sensitive to PG and thanks to VM procured some VG only juices. She has now gone 2 weeks with only the obligatory "Dear god what was I thinking?" puff from an analogue a week ago

On top of that there was recently a small discrepancy with our order. I dreaded informing them as I am used to customer service in SA and did not want to sour the relationship. Imagine my joy and relief when the response was immediate (even though it was after 10 in the evening) and completely professional.

You guys have built a business to be proud of, keep up the good work

Congrats @Oupa
Great achievement to get feedback like this!

Can agree on @Oupa's amazing service! Super friendly, and fast! And on top of that he makes some of the best juices in SA!!

Everyone harps on about customer service, but not many walk the walk.

Congrats @Oupa!

I was trying to think of something funny with the saying "the juice is worth the squeeze" but nothing witty came to mind.

The gonk is worth the squonk? Nah I got nothing either.

All my orders have been handled fantastically as well. And I basically only order my juice from them.

I have been dealing with @Oupa for about a year and half now. I cannot say anything but good things about him. I almost gave up in the beginning and @Oupa came to the rescue. Keep up the good work bro you got something special brewing!

Definitely my favourite vendor.....even if I have to wait it is worth it. They make a great team. I have been heavily into DIY this past 3 months and have come to appreciate how much time and effort it takes to get a mix right. One flavour mixes are very easy but complex juices takes months esp ones that need steeping as you can only make changes every 8-10days.....so in a month you can only have 3 variations of a mix. Also the ratio in relation to each other is just as critical as the overall percentage so I have come to appreciate just how difficult it is. Basically you are creating a recipe from scratch.

Based on my experience I know @Oupa must be spending long nights mixing orders and probably has very little sleep because he is passionate about his creations. Where he gets the time for new creations which is the most time consuming is beyond me.

Thanks to his and @Gazzacpt inspiration my mixes have reached the point where they serve as my ADVs' and buying juice is more out of curiosity and keeping my interest going - I get bored of a specific juice very quickly. That said the satisfaction gained from getting a juice right makes it worth it. @Riaz is my guinea pig!!! Made him test till his legs gave in!LOL!:D

Hi!

I hope i am posting in the right place.

As a noob, there's many questions I have regarding devices, liquids, etc... i would like to whole heartedly thank Chrystel from Vapour Mountain for having the patience in answering all my silly questions, and ridiculous requests, like asking for pictures of cleomisers attached to batteries. She has been so polite even till after I have placed an order. I would definately buy again.

PS: I can't wait to try out the smurfette and lichi i ordered!
