Rate, Improve and comment - My planned berry blend

Brown sugar adds a darker bakery type of sweetness. I'm not sure that will play well with berries. It might but I think sucralose may be a safer bet. I don't know TFM Musk but musk generally is a very assertive flavour. As is HS Blueberry, which ID10-T recently described as being like vaping a...

Rate, Improve and comment - My planned berry blend

What functions do the Musk and Brown Sugar fill in the recipe? Brown sugar is generally used as a bakery additive and musk tends to be a very assertive flavour. I can't say that it won't work with berries but it doesn't seem an intuitive combo for me.

    What did you Mix today?

What is it missing from your single flavour test? Does it need more crust, more filling, more sweetness, more cinnamon, more mouth feel, more density, more tang, more creaminess?

    Legalise Vaping Australia (LVA)

I don't think our govt is excessive with sin taxes at all. A pack of twenty cigarettes here costs less than R30. In the UK, at today's exchange rate, a pack of 20 is R184.31. In Aus, a pack of 20 can set you back almost R400. Even taking into account the lower value of our salaries when you...

    Favourite Movies

I like most movies by Peter Weir: Picnic at Hanging Rock, Galllipoli, Witness, Dead Poets Society, Master and Commander are all among my faves. Special shout-out to Master and Commander. Let's see, a movie that has no sex, nudity, love interest (no female actors even) or profanity, about a...

    50 First Vapes

I don't feel that way at all. I start vaping with my morning coffee, same juice, same wattage, same duration/depth/frequency of puffs as my very last drags of the day late at night.

Tips to help those struggling to kick the stinkies

Well, there's a natural development curve. Remember how expensive CDs and CD players were when the technology was first introduced? Or digital cameras? Or iPods? Today, you get a higher definition digital camera in a R1000 cell phone than R10k would have bought you in the 1990s. Companies recoup...

    Is vaping bad for you?

Everybody, including Farsalinos and Maciej Goniewicz, has warned of high temps. The bad stuff increases exponentially as temps rise. In his flavour testing, Goniewicz warned that flavours which show little or no harmful components at low temps suddenly spike and show high volumes of nasties as...

    DIY... taking the plunge.

It's not right, that's for sure. Your calculator is working out the final juice as 15.84ml of PG with 14.16ml of PG and PG-based ingredients. That's not 60/40. The VG should be 18ml or around 22.5g. It's hard to know where the error is, perhaps something in the setup? It appears to be using the...

    DIY... taking the plunge.

It doesn't make a big difference, @Room Fogger. But if the recipe developer assumes 1ml = 1g, I just stick with that for the sake of simplicity. This also applies to VG-based flavours. Quite a few of the Liquid Barn flavours have at least some percentage of VG in the base. Trying to work out...

    DIY... taking the plunge.

That looks right to me, @Gringo. The only thing I'd suggest is changing your weights. You seem to be using the PG weight of 1.036g per ml for your flavours as well. I'd change it to 1ml = 1g as that is what almost all recipe developers use. It doesn't make a big difference but it does help you...

Tips to help those struggling to kick the stinkies

Vaping hasn't yet been able to emulate the physiological effectiveness of combustible tobacco as a nicotine delivery mechanism. Vaping also hasn't been able to replicate the ease of use that cigarettes have. Buying a pack and lighting up is just a whole lot cheaper and simpler than buying a mod...

Tips to help those struggling to kick the stinkies

Other than wanting to quit smoking, I think the most important point is to reverse the "giving up" mindset. When you give up something, you are sacrificing and doing without. If you give up your second car, your DSTV subscription or your holiday home, you no longer have it and your life becomes...

    New Year's Resolutions for Vaping

Mine are fairly simple: * Drop to 1mg nic. I'm not mixing anything today. From tomorrow onwards, all mixes will be at 1mg. I feel I'm ready for this. * Very limited hardware purchases. I've done this for several years so no biggie. If a dripper is released which reportedly knocks spots off the...

If you received R30k to spend on vaping

I'd just bank it and spend it on DIY supplies over time. If I absolutely had to spend it all in one go, I'd probably get another dual cell 200W mod, a Smoant or VooPoo or somesuch, I'm not really fussed. As long as it puts out 25-40W when I push the button, it's all good. Then I'd get a decent...

The millennial drop in sex rate

Hi all I just read this article which I found very interesting. Apparently this has been reported quite extensively in the media over the past few years but I'm a bit dof so I'm only catching up now. Anyway, the executive summary is that sex rate is down across Western societies and across all...
