Hod does one go about identifying a leopard gecko? I have seen ones with leopard print style skin roaming around my office. Apologies for derailing your thread but this is very interesting.

Hi bud... I highly doubt it's a leopard Gecko, as leopard geckos are not from South Africa. I do however think what you are finding is the transvaal thick toed gecko which are more commonly found.
