For the vaping boffins.
I was wondering about nicotine, as it is a major part of my daily life and my body's blood stream
I would assume most vapers and smokers have a minor or major Nicotine addiction. So it got me thinking.
What I know about Nicotine, it is in plants like tobacco and others of the nightshade family. It looks like to is an evolutionary defense mechanism against insects - like a natural insecticide.
But with mammals (in lesser doses) it is a stimulant, now why is that ? If anything I would have thought mammals would be a great threat to a plant, just due to consumption amounts, compared to insects.
Could it be possible, that mammals evolved to some how negate the initial effects of the Nicotine, to be able to consume these plants in smaller amounts, and the plants didn't evolve to increase levels, as a couple of leaves here and there, would not totally kill off the plant.
Any thoughts ?
