Hi all

So I am looking at getting a quad 18650 device. looking at specifically the Smok GX350 with or the ijoy maxo 315w with the Ijoy maxo V12 tank. (any advice on that 28mm on these devices ?)

My sole reasons for a quad device is battery life. Reasons for the tank is i think the ijoy tanks look nice and the RBTA option. Now my dilemma is whether I am being a bit marketing led and choosing huge devices solely for battery life whilst I hear the asmodus minikin v2 has remarkable battery life from a dual 18650 ?

After a lot of searching and adding to carts lol I have a baseline cost of around +-R2700 for lg batteries, nitecore external, mod and tank for BOTH options. zero price difference, just really at a loss as to whether quad batts are worth it or not

Hi @DurbanThroatHit

I am also a big fan of long battery life but i will unlikely be going for a 4-batt mod anytime soon
My 3-batt RX200 is quite heavy and bulky. Even picking it up for a casual vape at home is not really ideal.

I would suggest you try out a 4-batt mod that is loaded with batteries and feel it in the hand before you buy. (If you havent done so already).

Do you want this mod for home use or for "out and about"?

Am getting great battery life on my 2batt minikin V1.5 by the way.

Also keep in mind that although it's going to give you longer battery life you still need to charge 4 batteries, so you will need 4 more to use while those are charging. Price wise the money spent on 8 batteries could be rather used against a good two battery mod with decent efficiency.

Not to derail your thought process but unless you enjoy vapeing at 100w+ or intend to use it as a home only/ braai/ back up mod

(like other members) i highly recommend a dual batt mod with multiple sets of batteries

My first "real" mod was a rx200 . . . I vape at 35 - 50w max, i went from 3 to 2 to single battery . . . Yes i change batteries fairly often but for portability, form factor and comfort i muuuuuch prefer it. . . But everyone wants something different in a set up (and we are spoilt with choice) what i consider ideal might not apply to you

If i was forced to get a quad mod it would be the rx300

You could just go for the RX2/3 that way you have a 3 battery mod for when you're lounging around the house and a 2 battery mod for out an about

A friend has a rolly 2/3 and it fits for nights out (even clubbing) so I was thinking it wouldnt be so bad. Basically I would like to use it for my home and out and about mod...However without the hassle of carrying extra batts and worrying about conserving batt throughout the night

your mini, what is your typical vape ? like ohm, watt and which brand of batts do you use? trying to get a baseline for battery life

i don't really sell my old mods so still have a pico and ego one to use when charging so im not too concerned about the downtime tbh

My thoughouts are always derailed so dont worry :D:D see that R2700 covers me for a single set of LG's for the mini...so i'll need extra funds for both the batts and a 4 bay charger which will likely push me over 3K

The rx300 is a bit too boxy for me. ergonomics aren't great plus two reviewers (including DJLsb Vapes) noted a difference in discharge among the batts. so it basically un marries them. Not sure if a firmware update has resolved this yet but thats why im not considering it right now

I was thinking of it but its a fairly dated device and the other 3 batt modd i considered was the smok marshall but apparently externals use like bays 1 and 3 together for charging so it will not be possible to charge all 3 at the same time thus i started looking at quad mods. can you confirm this? apparently it was the nitecore 4 bay(i think intellicharger)
