As per subject line :( prettiest mod ever, firing button keeps "skipping" I'm seriously handy like I was given a ryobi jigsaw for Christmas, and my birthday was a black and dekker drill. I need my mod to stay regulated though. I have no idea what I'm doing here. Any advice appreciated.

Has it lost its "clickyness", usually those Chyna tactile switches are cheep cheep.

Ive replaced caps on my tv before with a soldering iron, I know what I doing, but youve given me a great idea! I dont know what it looks like inside the mod, but if you have some small inkling, then I have a chance of fixing it! No switch needed, I just need to see how it worked with what metal was used in the first place! The fact that you encourage me to try, means the parts arent too small for my human hobbit hands :)

Well if not nothing wasted nothing gained :)

I've done it 3 times on my cheap Chyna mod.
Its a SMT(surface mount) so its small, 6mm square.
What I did was buy the pcb through hole ones, trim the legs and bend them outwards to solder onto the pads.

The issue is that a circular dimpled thin plate makes the contact and gives the clickyness.
This plate becomes bent from repeated pressing and no longer works.

Here's my Ijoy Solo mini pcb, technically with its 4th tact switch, the 3rd one didnt fit and I ruined it filling down the black plastic button, turns out it was hollow and cracked.
This one is the fire button from my Smok Alien which got cannibalized for spares.

Just an update, I realized I wasn't going to be able to take this thing apart without scratching the hell out of it. I actually contacted teslacigs to ask them the best way to take it apart, and they have responded asking for a video of why it's not working. Even mentioned they might replace it because it's not very old! I'll let you guys know what they say. If they replace it I'll eat my hat!

Good to see a company showing that much interest. Time to go hunting for a low calorie hat?

I contacted the vape shop I got it from and while they can't replace it they said after the stupid ban is lifted they will see if their guy can put it with one of their orders so I can just pay local shipping from their shop. Don't know if tesla offer will still be open then but I'm very happy with the service all round :)
