Hi everyone

This will be an attempt to create a database of the different coils Ecigs members are using with their different setups and liquids. I believe this will help new vapers get the most out of their spend and possibly teach a few old dogs some new tricks.

If you are interested in taking part, please reply to this thread with:

1) Coil used (make, material, ID, resistance is a must, with number of wraps as a bonus)
2) Atomizer used, with the +- wattage vaped at
3) Liquid Used (please include the liquid name, as well as the profile)
4) Cotton used, if possible
5) Your thoughts on the type of vape experienced (bonus points if you can compare it to another coil setup you have used before).

I will index all relevant posts in this first post.

1) Rob Fisher Aliens - https://www.ecigssa.co.za/coils-used-with-different-setups-and-liquids-database.t65648/#post-835314

1) Coil used The Coil Company Ni80 2.5mm 2x29/38 6 wrap ( I also use coils from a few other specialist coil makers who rock!)
2) Atomizer used - Dvarw DL, Skyline, Vapor Giant RTA's, Integra, Tripod and others all at 28 watts.
3) Liquid Used - Red Pill Crushed mixed berries, delicate sweet litchi, elderflower and a dash of ice.
4) Cotton used - Titanium Fiber Cotton and Mavaton X
5) Your thoughts on the type of vape experienced - Perfection.

1) Coil used: Hand made, cotton bacon comp wire. 24 AWG. Parallel wrap x 5, single spaced coil 4 mm ID. .25 Ohms (biggest coil I make)
2) Atomizer used - Vaping Bogan's Blotto @ 25 W
3) Liquid Used - DIY menthol/mint 70/30 VG/PG
4) Cotton used - cotton bacon
5) Your thoughts on the type of vape experienced - Really good all day vape. Can close Blotto airflow by 1/3. No fade in flavour, can rewick 5/6 times

5) Slighty Warmer vape that brings out a lot of the flavour profile. Nice earthiness with the CBv2 cotton and the tobacco.

Update.
New build.
Same rules apply.

1) Coil - Tricore Clapton cheapie 3.0mm ID Ohms out 0.34 according to mod with seven wraps.
2) Atty - Ryujin fully open airflow at 38w.
3) Juice is a home brew marshmallow pineapple.
4) V2 cotton bacon
5) At the wattage it's way too cool compared to the previous build so I "turned it up 4 watts" :headbang: (42w)
Taste is now close to previous build although I've noticed the marshmallow was much more pronounced at the lower setting.
*turns it down one watt.
Voltage sitting at 3.77v compared to the 3.22v with the five wrap coil. tata batty use time lol
*drips marshmallow pear on dry cotton
Slightly muted flavor compared to previous build
Just noticed the coil was not centered in the pic. Fixed that.. It's better now. same as before ;)

Hey, so the tricore cheapie 7 wraps with 3mm @ 0.34Ohm is basically the same as the Wotofo Clapton Comp 5 wraps with 3mm @ 0.24Ohm? But the .34 is drawing more power?

Is it possible for you to be able to tell us the wire make up of each?

I tried to get some nano alien Coil Company coils, because those coils Rob uses seem pretty close to perfect. By that I mean, you're not easily going to beat them with flavor, longevity and power usage.

I tried to get my usual coils, couldn't either. For now, I will go old-school till I can afford some nano aliens again.

Other than that, I will also be adding to the list, this can be a placeholder(if needed), as I am waiting for wire. Aand a few juices to steep, tobacco, fruit, dessert, candy, mints and menthols.

Can I compare the Profile Nexmesh and Normal mesh to coils as well?

Absolutely, compare anything and everything!

I will use a base juice and cotton, as well as keeping the RDA's close to the same.

I tested most juice profiles, but used one as a base to test. I have tested a ton and will only list what I find relevant.

1.1) Coil - (N70?) .6 Ohm 20-40W 4mm 24G 6 Wrap CoilMaster Compwire
1.2) Coil - (N70?) .42 Ohm 30-50W 4mm 22G 6 Wrap CoilMaster Compwire
2) Atomizer - All- Recurve was best.
3) Juice - DIY Tobacco Custard
4) Cotton - Bacon Bits v2
5) Thoughts - I don't like either, I was playing with it as an MTL, almost a good MTL.

1) Coil - (N70?) .3 Ohm 40-80W 4mm Dual Coil 24G 6 Wrap CoilMaster Compwire
2) Atomizer - Rincoe Metis(dual coil atty).
3) Juice - DIY Tobacco Custard
4) Cotton - Bacon Bits v2
5) Thoughts - I really tried, I don't like this setup...

1) Coil - (N80) .24 Ohm 50-70W 3mm 6x30/40 5wrap (VapeCreations Wire Spool)
2) Atomizer - Recurve RDA
3) Juice - DIY Tobacco Custard
4) Cotton - Bacon Bits v2
5) Thoughts - The coil is great, slightly muted compared to the Phantom Coil, much less spitback. This is actually my ADV setup.

1) Coil - (N80) .20 Ohm 55-75W 3.5mm Phantom coil 5 Wrap
2) Atomizer - Recurve RDA
3) Juice - DIY Tobacco Custard
4) Cotton - Bacon Bits v2.
5) Thoughts - Slightly better than mesh, but spitback.

1) Coil - (A1) .18 Ohm 45-60W Wotofo Mesh
2) Atomizer - Profile RDA
3) Juice - DIY Tobacco Custard
4) Cotton - Layered Bacon Bits v2 on top of a thick rolled Japanese cotton(this is how I do mesh wicking).
5) Thoughts - Fires great, taste is good, lasts maybe 3-4 days. The Nexmesh is an upgrade in every way.

1) Coil - (A1) .12 Ohm 55-70W ORFR NexMesh
2) Atomizer - Profile RDA
3) Juice - DIY Tobacco Custard
4) Cotton - Layered Bacon Bits v2 on top of a thick rolled Japanese cotton(this is how I do mesh wicking).
5) Thoughts - Tastes better, less spitback and lasts longer.

1) Coil and Cotton - .18 Ohm Vaporesso GT mesh (whatever watts the device gives)
2) Device/Atomizer - Sky Solo Plus
3) Juice - DIY Tobacco Custard
4) Thoughts - It is one of the best vapes I have had. Gone through a few tanks of juice, seems to last.
5) Why list this - It is good and the only commercial coiled device I ever had(gave the device to an ex-smoker). DIY and me are clearly meant to be.

Like it was said before the ramp up of mesh is excellent. It fires even when the watts are well below what I would usually use.

I will be using the NexMesh for a fair while, the flavor is great. Next I will compare the CottonBacon wire, especially against the CoilMaster wire.

@Silo Nice and informative list there bro. I rate you're a bit heavy handed on the drip to get spitback on a mesh though haha
You can give it a short click just to heat up the juice enough to saturate the cotton evenly. I'm only saying this because I never got spitback with my Profile and I've had the cotton in here for over a week. Just took a full strip of cotton bacon, rolled one end and pulled it through with an elbow tweezer. Just cut the ends and tucked it in with minimal fluffing. Going to re-wick today when I get a chance. Starting to look nasty even though the flavor is the same as day one :-D Best setup I own

:-DHaha, even though it isn't a lot, also not going to deny that I don't go nuts, it's still spitback. I am sure if we watch some slow-mo mesh heating you would see mini droplets flying. Maybe I am just sensitive in sensing it.

But I can't imagine how it would hurt sucking 70W 70grit mesh with a good layer of liquid on :flamethrower2::demon7:

:firedevil:Because I know...
