Reminds me of a company van I drove about 18 years ago... wishbones and bushes had to be replaced, the appy could not get any of the bolts loose the conventional way... the moment he came out of the tool store with a 4pound hammer and a shifting spanner I left the workshop as I did not want to see the carnage that ensued afterwards...
Reminds me of the old line, (adage?); "...when in doubt, use a hammer, the bigger the doubt, the bigger the hammer"
Exactly what I remember from my four years at engineering school. That and the use of Q20 and Duct Tape.

The actual answer is that the pockets are in fact the same size, they just seem smaller because of the size of your jeans.
