If you dont come right with a 2nd hand RDA then:
Seeing as though you are in durban:

http://www.sirvape.co.za/products/pre-order-velocity-free-bottom-feeder-attachment-rda-clone

Velocity is a breeze to build on. I have a clone and have no issues at all with mine. Produces decent flavour and big clouds (nothing like an RDA with bottom Airflow though but still very decent and adjustable to your liking).

Good Luck

Thanks Cespian for your reply. I was in fact looking at Sir Vape today and saw that dripper. Saw the word "clone" at the end and got unsure.
Have you any experience with clones? I haven't purchased any clones before and kinda assumed they not as good as the original.

I thought I'd post a wanted ad in hope of finding a good deal 2nd hand, as well as some advise.
Everyone here has been super helpful and supportive - RX200 best purchase I ever made - all thanks to folks here and their advise.

Clone items are often hit and miss. ive had my fair share of problems with both authentic and clone items. some clones are built better than others while some have parts made of cheese instead of metal.

your best bet would be to check fellow members reviews and see how well they perform.

Thanks Shaun, I'll lurk around the hardware review section and see what catches my fancy.

Your a well versed vaper, any suggestions on a starter dripper? Something not too expensive as I just dropped a small fortune on some kit and don't need my SO about how much I've blown so far o_O

it all depends on what your vaping style is. huge clouds, clouds with flavour, mainly flavour, mouth to lung hits... temp control vaping....

my current favourite all-rounder is the velocity mini but ive been having alot of fun with the phenotype L for serious clouds.

Thanks @shaunnadan, I was on the road quickly. 100% agree that its hit and miss with clones. However, I have only had 1 problem clone (Plume Veil) where the o-rings were horrible and the centre post was a bit loose (but easily repairable though by replacing the o rings and tightening the 510 pin).

Like I mentioned, I am currently using a Velocity Clone and not very different to the original. If you can afford the original then rather go for that. Another dripper Im loving at the moment is the Mutation X V4 which is also a clone.

I trust the products from the Sirs and I doubt they would sell rubbish.

I'm looking for some big clouds, currently using a TFV4 full kit with the dual RBA and it's chucking clouds but man the amount of juice it's using is bankrupting me. I bought a Cubis tank the other day just so I could get a decent vape and is frugal on juice.
An ideal dripper for me would be one with high airflow and also mustn't kill the flavour. I know this is probably a hard ask as more air tends to mute the flavour.

I read some good reviews on the Mutation X V4, have you got any links for the clone you purchased?
HAve you tried the Kennedy clones or the Baal V2? Sorry to pick your brain like this but you seem quite clued up on this.

clouds are fueled by juice... the bigger clouds the more juice your going to need.

the baal v2 is okish, more for flavour than cloud chasing... kennedy is awesome

Baal V2 idea scrapped. Kennedy put on short list.

Whats your opinion on the Twisted Messes? And out of curiosity, what does Shaun Nadan drip on?

Drippers are known for good flavour, some more than other.
Velocity is the best known dripper for its build. Have not read any bad reviews on it. But havent had one myself.

I can only tell you about the ones i have used so far. Turbo v1 is very easy to build and gives good flavour and clouds and easy to open and drip. The fishbone plus gives better flavour but has a smaller build deck but I build quite easy on it but more difficult to drip as the orings are super tight. I sometimes drip through the drip tip but you can misjudge the amount of juice quite easily then when its too full you get juice in your mouth.

My next dripper will definitely be the velocity

Sorry, I got my Mutation in the UK last year.

The Kennedy is great as well. Used it for a week. Had absolutely nothing bad to say about it. Building was easy, clouds and flavour was on point as well. Unfortunately ive not used the Baal yet so unable to comment on that.

Ultimately, the best for me have been the velocity for ease of building and decent cloud chucking and flavour, and the mutation for its versatility, amazing flavour because of bottom airflow and crazy clouds because of side and bottom air intake. 10/10 would recommend those 2.

I must admit though that dripping juice is a minor issue for me on the mutation because of the bottom air flow holes opening up so close to the coils. So when I aimed a little bit off, juice went in the holes and out the bottom. Pros outweigh the cons substancially though

the twisted messed is a close rival to the phenotype L. excellent clouds and much better flavour.

the twisted messes is awesome, great clouds and flavorful. ive seen some dodgy clones where the post hole sizes were different and the centre pin was a bit skew so just double check if your looking at it. the authentic is perfect.

shaun nadan is super inconsistent and usually has a few mods at all times :) today im using the mutation x tank on the rx200, the velocity mini on the dna200 and the derringer on the COV mini volt

Man it must be great to be Shaun Nadan :D

I am going to purchase an Airek RDA competition clone from MikeVape - just waiting his reply. I'm thinking it will make a good start my dripping career. If I like dripping I'll look at getting a velocity mini or a twisted messes original. And here I though quitting smokes would save me cash geez was I wrong :p

Thanks for the advise and replies @shaunnadan

Vaping can definitely save you money. I have a friend who bought 5 ego batteries, 5 mini pro tanks and coils to last him a few years (changing them once a month) he uses 2x 30ml bottles of juice for the month and will never upgrade! For the past 2 years this is all the gear he has and is happy with it.

But then there's us.... And we like new and shiny things... :)

That will never be me. In the almost 2 months I have been vaping (I don't count the time spent on a twisp) I have spent a bit on different juices and kit.
I love new and shiny things. You should see the amount of retired tech I have lying around in cupboards and the garage lol.

I'm a self confessed tinkerer and constantly seeking the to get the most out of everything, from custom OS on my phone to OC my PC rig, I'd say it's an IT thing but in my department seems it's just me :p

Then I would not even suggest TFV4 With monster coils like the R3 or the T4... ha ha ha

Geez man you want to bankrupt me lol. I have the dual RBA for my TFV4 and it's a guzzler. I saw the new TFV4 Beast kit with the TF-R3, I'm gonna need a home loan to bankroll my juice stock hehehe
