Abused Reos - CONTEST!

in the PIC your mod looks great, can see the door alignment is out.
take two pieces of wood and clamp your door between it then tap lightly to medium hard on the wood with a hammer and make sure the door part is on a flat when you do it @rogue zombie

It actually once was bumped out of my hand and fell hard on tar. So the horizontal alignment was squezed. I couldn't move the door at all. That's why you see forced marks on the door square (where you squonk). It was me forcing the door open with various tools. So the entire mod may be a bit skew.

BUT thank you very much! I shall do that in hope to get it a little "prettier".

She is my hardcore mod though... through thick and thin, we carry on.

@rogue zombie @Andre if the shape become to concave turn it upside down and do the same between the planks or use a piece of board on one side but then start tapping lighter with the hammer.different wood have different impact thresholds so be diligent.
can also tell you how to straighten your mod but I'll have to explain it.can upload pics.or you can just use a 320grit emery cloth and take a few mircrons off the bottom of your door

Wow awesome. Thank you very much!

I shall start on the restoration \○/

Literally 10mins before this picture was taken today, my Reo went for a swim in my jacket pocket, honestly wasn't worried about the Reo but I was a bit worried that my battery was destroyed but all is good so far lol

After a tap down with some toilet paper and a toot or 2 of salt water and vm4, I was happily vaping which resulted in this picture :iru:

First mishap during 1'st half of 2014 (did a full detailed write up on this forum as well as on ECF, but almost 4 years later, nowhere to be found):

A leak developed underneath the 510 connector. On closer inspection the source was e-liquid seeping between the positive pin and the silicone "goo" The only cause I could think of, was the weekly cleaning in a powerful industrial grade ultrasonic bath. At that time it was my only device and had to resort to emergency measures. I first removed all the silicone "goo", cut a thick wall teflon tube about 1mm longer than the chamber. The teflon tube was force-fit into the chamber. During the dismantling process the thin washer was damaged and in no shape to do anything. However, the 510 positive pin was a very tight fit and the thin washer seemed unnecessary. To this day, this Reo (with above emergency repair) is still my ADV device without any leaks.

Second mishap during 2015 (also documented somewhere on this forum): Measuring voltage drop on the Reo with various sub-ohm builds, the protective negative spring sagged and I had no spare. Out of desperation took a 10A blade-type automotive fuse out of my parts bin, bend one terminal underneath the fuse body and the other terminal over the top part of the fuse body. Remove sagged spring and loosely fit the automotive fuse. Once 18650 battery is fitted, the fuse fits snug. I used the Reo with this setup a couple of weeks until a spare spring was received (still keep this automotive fuse as a backup to this day).

Here is a post on the 2014 episode @johan.

Well, the contest is over and I have drawn a winner. They have been contacted via PM to confirm shipping address and mod selection. Once everything is confirmed, I'll post the winner's mod and winning entry on here for everyone.

Thanks for all the great stories and fun pictures! We'll have to do something like this again in a few months.

@Eric Parlin , I currently do not own a Reo, but had the privilege of trying one over the weekend, and it blew my socks off. Based on this the attached image is step one in my quest for one, the official Reo Fund.

Biggest bugger I could find and hoping it fills up sooner rather than later!

I did end up including entries from people wishing to own a Reo, along with the almost true Star Trek entry....

Next time I will make sure to be specific that anyone can enter. Thanks for the feedback!

What, I didn't win. Maybe my pic wasn't close up enough... have you seen the condition of mine. If it was a person, I would be doing "life" behind bars. o_O

Just kidding :D

Thanks for the great comp. And, ENJOY, to the winner!

I cut one, took the button assembly out, filed it,sanded it and gave it plenty of abuse.

Torture! Not for sale yet - I have to ask!

I doubt I'll sell it Andre,it sits on my desk with 3 other Reo's I've abused and they all have a little story to get to what they look like now!

You'll be the first to know if I ever decide to part with it.
