Was not a good Saturday.
About 3am the morning I walk outside for a wee and notice the Nikola's screen is on where it is standing on the table outside. So thinking a burgler vaped a bit on it, I first scanned the garden, I am long waiting for an easy fight. But unfortunately did not find any unwanted guests. So back to Nikola, the screen is on but do not fire. Take batteries out and go to bed. Later put batteries in but it does not come on. I did not have any juice spillage or noticed any leaks, but just in case I leave it in sun a few hours. Put batteries in and it works, but sometimes the wattage just start runing on its own and dont stop. So something wrong inside, I think at the watts up and down buttons. I personally think its one of these small ants that I have alot off outside, that maybe crawled inside. Will leave it another day or two before I open.

Then last night after Im back from Loftus, I drop my trusty companion the Rsq. And I mean drop from about 2m down stairs, everything everywhere. Put together again and it work. It was such a big fall, something bended, cant see anything, but tje battery door needs to be pushed hard to get in all the way and then pulled hard again to get it off. Not a big problem, it is actually very secured the way it is now.
But here is the problem and it confuse my logic.
So vaping a bit last night Im getting this burnt cotton taste. So this morning change the cotton. Still the same. I always build at about 0.9ohm on the Vapefly and about 16watts. If you put the device on bypass mode it runs at +-16watts always. I always first put in bypass mode to have an idea of where the watts should be if I have a coil that I dont know the required watts for the ohms. And on bigger ohm builds a few watts can make a big difference
Anyway as I was still confused as to what can give me this burnt cotton taste, I put it in bypass and suddenly now its running at 12watts? But for more than a month all the +-0.9ohm builds was at 16watts. So now in normal mode at 12watts the vape is perfect again. But Im totally confused, my logic cant explain how a fall can change the output required?
Àny ideas?

I have noticed a bump could make the coil move slightly causing a hot spot or a short, or even loosen slightly, maybe that's why it's reading differently now?

Thanks, yes will fit new coil tonight, but this coil still reads the same 0.92ohms as before

Sorry to hear about that @Jean claude Vaaldamme
Really sucks that you had issues with BOTH mods on the same day. What are the chances of that happening. Normally its just one mod

Hope you get to the bottom of it

Ok update. The Rsq seems to be fine. Look like a battery issue, all my other batteries work fine and correct watts, just the one in the fall the drops the watts or actually gives more power. I gave it a charge and then it ran at 14watts in bypass mode, them left it overnight in charger and now its back to 16watts like all the other batteries. The logic behind that, confuse me, but everything working.

Nikola work, but still sometime the watts starts running down on its own. When I then press power it locks the power button , so definately something shorting the power down button. Still think its an ant.
How long does an ant take to decompose:SOOCONFUSED:

Sounds like the battery may not be completely safe anymore, please double check for any physical damage such as denting. Better to be safe and chuck a battery than have it blow up.

Backup gear always a good idea! Haven't had an issue with an ant yet (which is surprising because we are fighting ants all the time) but I have vaped a spider in an RDA!

Spider wick sounds like it could be the next great wicking material that costs R8000 a gram :D
