Why do some mods have a 10 second cut-off?

I'd love to know the reason. I inhale for longer than 10 seconds. Is that harmful to the mod? To me?

I'm guessing that it's protection in case of a Pocket-Press or something similar. In case the user is unaware of the fire button being pressed.

Depending on the wattage, the Mod (Depending on the mod) may also need to protect it's internal workings in case the chip avalanche's and burns-out if pushed too hard for too long. This is only a possibility though.

10 seconds? Did you time yourself? I doubt it. 10 Seconds is a long time in vaping.
I mean I inhale very long and I don't even come close to 5 seconds.

If memory serves me right:
It's made like that as a protection against accidental firing and burning (flaming) coil/cotton in your pocket or a bag.
It should also protect your battery from overloading, overheating, venting and destroying your mod.

I am a bit curious to why/how you are inhaling a vape for 10 seconds though

@zadiac My Vaporesso Armour mod told me that I exceeded 10 seconds

@klipdrifter I wasn't aware of how long I inhale, but my Vaporesso mod told me that I exceeded 10 secs. I do inhale for a while, but I also wouldn't have thought it's as long as that. I'll time myself later this evening and post to this thread lol

I timed myself a few times with the stopwatch on my phone and I inhale for between 5 - 6 seconds.

suppose the tank used would be the question, do you use very tight airflow and low wattage?

Sounds a bit better. I think your mod's counter might be a bit off....lol.

@Hooked Sounds to me like there might be something wrong with your mod. Could be a software or hardware issue causing the mod to display the 10sec Cut Off message which would only appear if firing for longer than 10sec.

I would test the mod with another atty, if the problem persists try running the software update to see if it correct that problem.

Other issue could be related to the 510 possibly having some juice or a fine piece of coil wire creating a short of sorts cause the error.

I have the same Vaporesso Armor mod and never had this message appear, something is wonky with your setup.

Nope. Open airflow and wattage about 40W
