Found another use for my coffee machine :p

For those who don't know, the surface they are lying on is a heated warming plate.

Sent from my awesome Reo-mini.

Damn dude.. very interesting.. What where the results like?

Just remember, heat accelerates the break down of nicotine - nothing dangerous, but your nicotine concentration will drop when you heat your e-liquids. Not a hell of a lot, but just something to keep in mind.

I just thought of it a few hours ago, and went to go and check on the resluts when I took the pic. Gotta say I'm really impressed, the juice temp seems perfect. I first tried it without the foil, but then I thought it would help in two ways, keep out the light, and help conduct the heat.

how long did you leave it on the coffee maker for? At what temp did you conduct the process?

Apologies for all the questions, I am just really interested in finding out ways to steep juice faster and ways to prolong the life of juice

Good to note thanks, I was reading the other day that 8 hours in a slow cooker produces the same results as sitting in a dark cupboard for two weeks.

My Delonghi machine, has a max 3 hour on time, from the last cup. So I'm going to cook them for another 6 hours and compare to my "untreated" bottle of Elvis' Breakfast later :p

It varies from juice to juice - we usually do 3 hours in a slow cooker on its lowest setting, anything more does not seem to produce anything better (with our juices as least)

Nothing is a good as just good old time though - and you actually don't want dark - light speeds up any chemical reaction - just don't ever put your juices in direct sunlight though - that will destroy your nic rather quickly.

But no-one has done any real scientific tests on steeping though, so it's pretty much what works for you is the right thing to do :)

Indeed, I'm interested to try it for myself, and who knows what the outcome is like. All depends on the juice I guess. Apparently tobacco flavours only work better with time.

Yeah tobacco flavours improve the best over time - some as much as 6 weeks of steeping

why not just use warm water? change it when it's cool, do that a few times over a week or so.
and there's the ultrasonic cleaner option. i was about to go back to the kalahari link that someone posted, and order one, but now i remember that i need glass bottles too.
what convinced me was reading someone telling how well it cleaned coils.

beware of slow cookers, maybe check the temperature, test it. i saw a vid where the guy was making some special herbal infusion and it worked out better in an ordinary pot on the stove - the slow cooker let the temperature go too high and the infusion darkened. he said that it was a cheap slow cooker...so, the thermostatic control turned out to be inaccurate.

Also remember that sunlight destroys flavours very rapidly, that is probably the most important reason for keeping juices and concentrates away from sunlight
