PG Allergy?

We have not advertised this as such, but maybe I should mention it. Over time we have acquired a few customers that have a PG allergy, and we have been successful in keeping them vaping by producing special mixes for them.

In our standard production runs we can accommodate up to +-85% VG mixes, depending on the nicotine content (we know nic can be sourced in VG but it is not viable for us to do so in our standard production).

We do offer to make special mixes for those with a PG allergy/sensitivity that will raise the VG content to about 95%. This has been successful in every case so far. The problem is that we cannot include these mixes in our normal production, they have to be mixed up from scratch individually so we have to add a 20% charge for this service.

Yea, when someone claims 100%VG juices I am sceptical, flavourings in VG are rare, the market for it is tiny worldwide in relation to vaping and I doubt many juice producers will carry it.

Actually - and this is not because I'm trying to garner business (PG allergies are not that common) - let me just say what I know on this topic for the info of those that do suffer from PG sensitivity/allergy (vapers worldwide just hate seeing other vapers going back to cigarettes, and I am no exception).

Nicotine is usually suspended in PG though it is easy to get it in VG. We don't carry nic in VG - the call for it is too small. If the demand is there we will change this.

The real issue is in flavouring. Depending on the brand used this % will vary from <5% to around 15% or even 20% in some juices. Because of the reason mentioned in previous post, the vast bulk of flavourings used in juice is carried in PG. It is possible to find some flavourings suspended in VG, but unless a juice maker wants to specialise in producing 100% VG juices, it is seldom used.

The other possibility is flavourings suspended in water or alcohol. These are mostly used in the food industry and may contain compounds like diacetyl etc., not really recommended for vaping. Using water-based flavourings brings other problems as well - menthol, for instance, will crystalise in water.

We have found over time that a 90%+ VG mix sorts out the sensitivity/allergy issue in every case we were involved in.

Bottom line - if you are looking for 100%VG juices inquire about these issues.....

We now stock nicotine in VG as well, so we can get your VG content up higher in the juices, at no extra cost as we can accommodate it in our normal production run. Just make a note in checkout 'Max VG'.
