What is best putting your coil through the post or around it? Pros and cons would be greatly appreciated

That would depend on the atty. Kayfun for instance.... Trapping under the screws means shorter legs, less heat lost through the legs so more power to the coil. Also you would get more wraps on the coil and not lose valuable surface area on the coil by wasting resistance.

For most drippers the post holes are located on the level where the coil height would best match the airflow through the holes in the cap.
If you use the screw tops on these, it means the coils would be situated higher off the deck and that you need longer wicks to get to the juice in the juice-wells or the deck. If its situated too high, it would also affect the flavor and vapor production as there would probably be no direct airflow over the coil(s) as it would mostly pass underneath.
