Good Day my fellow vapers.

It is the first time in a long, very long time that I post. I think most of the old folk will remember me. This last couple of months I have seen numerous posts/articles etc. that is a treat for our industry/lifestyle. I am very concerned, vaping has definitely improved my life quality, the 1st of June 2019 it will be 4 years since I last light a Camel. What are we as community going to do to handle this thread/problem. I know we as community/friends/family don't even want to talk about this topic, but hell guys, we must pull up our pants and start to find a solution. I know for a fact that some countries is already underground if I can say, but I think we as vapers and vendors must take hands and try to find solutions, we surely can't fight government decisions (note- new smoking bill will see the light the moment a new cabinet is elected and that will be soon). My point, we think the Americans with their FDA is in shit, I promise you ours will be even bigger!!! Let us brain storm on this topic, rather try to find a solution than to attack the problem.

Cheers Guys.
Vape On.

I think that most of us are very concerned about the future of vaping but the human animal has a great ability.

We stick our heads in the sand and hope that the problem will go away on its own.

Thanks @Petrus - and great to see you online again!
Hope you and the family are well

At this point, it's not clear what the final regulations will look like here in SA. I suppose it will take time for these things to unfold.

What I do know is that the VPA is actively engaged in this matter and have engaged with many vaping vendors to help the process of engaging with the policymakers. We also hope to have them again this year at VapeCon where they can ideally interact with the industry to help their goals for engagement with the policy makers. They are to my knowledge the best equipped body currently in trying to deal with this matter.

Some countries have started to lift the ban on vaping, like the Emirates. Other countries will follow. Some are only starting to ban now, but in time will lift the ban as well.
Peer reviewed research on the negative effects of vaping always give the opposite result, that vaping is healthier than smoking. Some countries take a long time to catch up to this.
ANY articles that say vaping is bad for you, NEVER have links to peer review research. NEVER.

Imho opinion SA is always trying to play catch-up with the rest of the world in many regards.

When they consolidate, we decentralize, when they go offices, we go open plan, they go distance employment we build offices, they do online shopping we build malls .

It is as if we see the results, but don’t want to accept that “they may be right”. This is especially true of the lawmakers, said it before, it’s seems their only force driving them is to have a signature on some law, correct or not, to our detriment or not to make it look as if they are doing something. I can honestly say that I can live with a 5% unknown in vaping, Hell, even 25 % more healthy is still better than 100 % smoking bad. If vaping is outlawed I’ll be an outlaw and proud of it.

It’s time to realize we do not need to reinvent the wheel to be able to use it, you have lemons, make lemonade with your neighbors recipy if you have to, why is it such a problem for us to realize that if the info and proof is there use it.

From the bit I have seen and heard of the VPA they are giving it their all. I do not know how they get funding, or if they are doing it for free for our community and maybe it’s time to start a crowdfunding initiative for them to ensure they have the resources to do even more. I will definately contribute as the long term benefits far outweigh the cons of spending some money new.

We are screwing ourselves over by being complacent, I’m game for a cloud blowing competition on the steps of the Union buildings, just a date and time required.

Vape on Friends and Vape Family, and let’s get out fighting boots on.

Hi @Room Fogger
To my knowledge, the VPA has many of SA's vaping vendors as members.
There is a fee for this and those fees go toward funding the VPA.
That is how I understood it - not sure if things have changed - but I doubt it.

Perhaps one of the VPA members can comment here

Right here is a perfect example of what could happen in S.A

Advise to all is to start to the point where you have what you consider to be your perfect hardware. Find your favourite eLiquid Profiles and ADV’s. Learn how to DIY and stock up on your favourite DIY concentrates and get ready to go full Undergroung Vaping - it’s going to be fun!

You're quite correct @Silver and it's a rather high fee too.

I've been stocking up my Underground Shelter for the past few months already - and still doing so. Got a few extra mods too. And no ... I'm not giving anyone my address :D

@Room Fogger, I like your suggestion of crowd funding and I would certainly be willing to contribute IF I knew what the money is being used for. I was under the impression that VPA was going to start a massive pro-vaping campaign, which I haven't seen or heard of.

I daresay the VPA is taking steps to communicate with government but what those steps are, are not being communicated to us. Therefore, the impression is that they're not doing anything.

Until I see exactly what they're doing, my crowd funding will be directed towards my house.
