Hi there,

I was an enthusiastic vaper starting in 2016. In 2024, I switched to disposables for convenience, especially due to travel, and because the enthusiast market had been dying since 2022.

After trying a number of disposables over a few months, I settled on the Bewolk XL disposable cartridge system. For a disposable, it was excellent: great flavour, airflow, and a punchy hit. The downside is the cost. The cartridges are R250–R299 each, and I go through one every five days, so I am looking for a more cost effective option without the downgrade in vape quality(An upgrade would be even better).

I’m now considering a refillable pod device/kit. Can you recommend one that offers an experience similar to or better than the Bewolk XL or with:
  1. A punchy hit
  2. Coils or pods that last a reasonable amount of time without the flavour fading after a day or two
  3. Provides great flavour
Thanks!

Edit: I have been looking at the Vaporesso XROS 6, Vaporesso XROS 6 mini, OXVA XLIM PRO 3 Kit(There is a XLIM PRO 4 that has been released in the USA) and Vaporesso LUXE X3 Kit. I have no idea if I am on the right path, and if I am, I do not know which one to buy.

Long time since we last heard from you. My journey is similar, and I, too, love the Bewolk disposables and cartridge system. While I still vape Red Pill in my high-end gear I use the Bewolk systems a lot.

The OXVA XLIMs are the best by far for me, and the tough part was finding a juice. At last, I found a perfect juice and one close in flavour to the Dear Mint in the Bewolk systems!

A refillable pod is a good move from disposables, and you usually get steadier flavour once you find a pod you like. Start simple and give a new pod a few days before judging it, as the first day is not always typical.

Pod systems are pretty good at the moment.
The oxva xlim and nexlim offer the best flavor. They last a decent amount of time as well.
When I tried to get my father to switch to vaping instead of smokes I got him a nexlim. The 4.5ml capacity is what convinced me.

The Xros series is also good. And between Xros, nexlim and xlim you will have a good time.

Rob and Baxteen have covered the hardware shortlist. I’d put the juice beside it before spending anything.

What strength is your Bewolk, and which flavour? “Punchy” can mean nicotine satisfaction, throat hit, cooling, or a draw that actually suits you. Buy a decent refillable and put the wrong juice in it, and you’ll blame the poor bloody pod for something it never agreed to do.

At your quoted price and five-day pace, you’re spending roughly R1,500–R1,800 a month on cartridges. That gives you a useful comparison: juice plus replacement pods, not just the price of the shiny new device.

Before buying, check that your usual SA supplier keeps the exact replacement pods in stock. A bargain becomes an expensive paperweight remarkably quickly when its consumables disappear.

Which Bewolk flavour and strength are you trying to replace?

Good to hear from you. I hope you are well, Sir Rob. It’s been a long time, and the industry feels vastly different to me now. It seems as if the art form has died, or maybe it has just evolved.

The OXVA XLIM is definitely on my list and number 1 currently if you say it is a winner. I was looking at Lost Vape and SX's pod systems too, but the pods/coils, I reckon, will be an issue to find. I will enquire when the XLIM 4 is coming. I want to make the switch this month so I might have to go with the XLIM 3 for now.

With the Bewolk XL, I vape both 20mg and 50mg and buy all of their flavours, with my top 2 being Energy Drink and Monkey Milk. When I say punchy, I mean draw and throat hit. I want something that is the same or better than this.

Yeah, as I said to Rob, I was also looking at Lost Vape and SX's(Even Reload's, but I can't seem to find it online in SA) pod system. These Pods will be harder to find so will probably give these a miss.

Which would be better for me, the XROS, XLIM, or NeXLIM? When it comes to draw, pods that don’t start losing flavour after a day or two, and a good throat hit.

I've had all 3 and recommend the nexlim 0.8s by far. I did a lot of research on which pods specifically and the general consensus is the 0.8ohm nexlim pods, open airflow, on eco mode. You'll get around 4500 puffs which is about 1x 60ml salts bottle. One pod should easily last you a month. With xros pods you'll be lucky to get a week. The xlim pods are single strip, so even though they last longer than the xros pods, you'll still get double the lifespan with the nexlims dual strips as long as you keep it on eco. The reason 0.8s are the sweet spot is that the lower resistance runs too high, the higher resistance has too little airflow. The 0.8s are the sweet spot for longevity. The nexlim is the only dual mesh among your options. On eco mode, each puff you take activates a different strip, so you're alternating 2 strips instead of using a single strip which doubles your pod lifespan. On boost mode, you'll be using both strips at once and halve your pod life. The nexlim pods are readily available and you won't be locked down on prefilled pod flavours. As far as juice lines go, IMO the closest you're going to get to disposable flavour and sweetness are Misfits 60ml salts juices, with Yeti being a close second, however I find Misfits to have much more flavour intensity and sweetness than yeti. Super sweet, super flavourful, and last super long in your pods. I easily finish a whole bottle on a single pod. But hay juices are like food everybody likes something different. Misfits just gives you a wide selection of flavours, with disposable flavour without ruining your pod

@Old_Goat did you get hacked? Your profile has been posting AI generated text for a while now just wondering whether it's actually you or a bot? The forum has been overrun with bots lately which is why I ask
