Just curious how this works, I have seem some people rated 1's and other 5's.

I think this is under utilised. The ratings are awarded from forum members to other forum members... Loki you can go to my profile page (campaigning here) and click on the stars under my profile image to the left and rate me 5 stars

I personally do this after dealing with someone and I rate the experience. You could also rate users for assisting with problems or giving other advice.

Click on the user, then go to their profile page.

From there you should be able to rate them, and leave a comment if you so desire.

I like to rate people on experiences I have had with them just so others might know what to look out for. I also look at the ratings if dealing with anyone in the classies, although I don't think the ratings are done often enough to reflect an accurate picture of someone.
