Ni-cad batts died in my old ryobi screwdriver so I upgraded to usb-C charging via TP4056 module and 18350's from a dispo vape.
Cut out the old barrel jack for the original power supply as well as the 3 indicator leds on the top.
The original 1.2v AA sized ni-cads were 600ma, the dispo batts are 2 x 1000ma wired in parallel. View attachment 310162
Hacked a big enough hole to fit the entire plug because the usb C port was kinda deep.
Also makes the charge light visible which is a plus. View attachment 310163
