Rob's Pod testing thread

They are KAK!

The Defender has the best flavour and DL air flow but the kakkest mouthpiece!

If you want air (aka DL) then the Breeze is the best all-round refillable.

If you want a tight draw then either of the Sourin's.

Non fillable the Twisp Cue!
I got a twisp cue.it works for intended purpose.
Then i have an eleaf icare2 its purpose is to lay in the bag with a very high nic content for when times are tough and i really need to break my heart.this specific one burn coils so i never really get any taste out of it but its my TH wonder.
So if i want to get another pod system which one would come close to the cue (draw and all) but can be refilled

Giving the Vaporesso Nexus a test drive with some Haywire 22 Nic Salts that @raihaan dropped off for me when he picked up his Dvarw! I must say I like the smoothness of the ceramic coil in the Nexus. It's a MTL vape but with a smooth draw and pretty good flavour. With good nic salt juice in it it has become one of my more enjoyable of the Pod SYstems... but I have always been a fan of @Vaporesso cCell's!

Firstly...

"I'm not that kinda muslim"

:risas3: :risas3: :risas3: :risas3:

Secondly, you raise a very good point. I forgot that the nic salts don't give a TH. You think these devices would work just as well if I loaded them up with some 18mg juices?

@Stosta @Rob Fisher @Amir I've been using the Aspire Gusto Mini for a few months now, and I most definitely get a good throat hit from it. It takes the Elements nic salts pods 20mg

@Amir
Will these liquids be 50/50 mix ratio bud? Any other flavours of this range coming in nic salts? Sorry for the slight diversion.

But I do understand about the "very little to no throat hit" from nic salts. I also feel little to no hit on the gusto mini pods at least. Since I started vaping and stopped stinkies...all i really seeked was that throat hit even more than my nic fix. And isnt that one of the biggest selling points of nic salts? To intake as much nic as possible WITHOUT that harsh throat hit...yes there might be some there but the focus is the nic fix and not the hit.
But im stil keen to try nic salts in other tanks like the nautilus mini as well.

@Ruwaid That's strange - I get a very good throat hit from the Gusto/Elements pods.

Nic salts does give a throat hit... but not that sharp crisp kind of free base nic. It’s hard to explain but you’ll know it when you’re running them side by side. I did a small experiment today with snlv on ice 25mg/ml freebase vs 15mg/ml nic salts and I find the freebase to give a nice sharp punch vs the hefty nic saturated feel from the salts

I have just discovered that the @Vaporesso Nexus has an airflow adjustment option... Winner Winner Chicken Dinner! It also has three power settings! I really should read the manuals... I refilled it with Haywire 22 Ns for another test and realised the airflow had changed and was much better for my style. The Nexus is a winner.

35mg nic ain't all that bad.. don't double clutch the pod tho coz it kicks u where it hurts the most .. I tried a few and settle for the suorin air as I wanted a medium hit ie nt too tight not too loose.. can definitely DL it but definitely not with 35mg

However it's aesthetically pleasing. Easy to use. Works very well. And simple to setup and the cartridges are very affordable

Just what I needed for my stress control,oh how I've missed the throat hits of cigs

Thinking of getting the Suorin Air. Its the least girly Pod i see lol, thanks for this thread @Rob Fisher , Need to do my research on Nic Salts, I vape/drip 3mg nic atm and dont really want something thats gonna give me a hectic throat hit, Does Nic Salt juices come in different strengths, Another Q, What would be the 3mg nic equivalent using NIC SALTS instead

Hard to say as everyone might take to the hit differently bud but I would assume 10mg nic salt (think this is the lowest commercially sold) would give the similar hit to 3mg freebase!?

I must say that all the PODS were really disappointing for me... I hated the MTL ones and the DL versions were lacking flavour compared to my normal setups. For me, there is one more try and that's with the Breeze II which I will be getting this week. Of all the pods tested the only one I could see me using again was the Breeze...

Looking forward to hear what you say about the Breeze 2 as i'm on the fence as to what to buy for my first venture into Nic slats

I want the Breeze II for my normal Red Pill 50/50 3mg.... of all the Nic Salts I have tried I like the Element Juices and the Skadi from Elysian!

I had some 35mg Naked Brain Freeze in my Aspire Breeze 2 with the 1.2 ohm. It cuts down your vaping big time. A few puffs and you're done.

The nexus is on my list @Sir Vape has the Craving Vapor/Hex Ohm Jynx pod coming in soon. Gonna add that one to my list as well.

Don't use 35mg then. I would suggest maybe 20mg or less. Even at 20mg it will be stronger than your 3mg but shouldn't be too bad. At 35mg it's smooth [a 15mg (normal nic) juice has much more throat hit than a 35mg (Salt nic) juice].

Thanks Guys, done some research online and I dont see any vape shops that i normally support selling lower NIC then 20MG on NIC SALTS juices.

Saw this thread and thought i'd share my findings. Pods are great little shake and vape devices that as concluded are lacking in flavour. Especially in desserty type flavours. I have found that they work best with strong fruity iced flavours. Element's watermelon chill has been a decent all rounder for me. In the case of some local nic salts I have found that by adding a few drops of Black Ice concentrate also spikes the flavour up very nicely. :)

OK, here we go again... DL Pods... Testing 1-2-3!

Aspire Breeze 2 and the Joyetech Exceed Edge. Testing with Red Pill because I detest Nic Salts.

That's me done with Pod Systems for now... none of them come anywhere near close for flavour as an RTA... The Edge coil is pretty good right from the start but the draw is too tight for me... The Breeze 2 is probably the best of all the Pod Systems but the coils take a while to break in and they have that cotton taste for quite a while... but at least you can do a restricted DL with it... but it's still a little too restricted for me.

Bottom line... Pod Systems with Nic Salts are probably great for smoking converts...

For normal vapers who don't want to build coils, a normal Sub Ohm tank is a way better bet!

100% Agreed. No pod systems come close to a MTL RTA in flavor. Something like the Savour, Merlin MTL, Berserker Mini 22 are much better in flavor compared to a pod system.

The biggest pro for pod systems is their size and the fact that you can use high strength nicotine. Pod systems are more for getting your nic fix rather than flavor.

Agree with all the above comments but there’s something about such a small compact system you can just pop into your pocket, grab your keys and pop out the house for a short while.
Also there’s the stealth vaping convenience when one just needs a drag or two at a place one would normally not use a conventional vape setup.
I also got myself an Edge today, really well made device with decent flavour for a pod system. My other favourite is the Suorin Air.
