What boggles me is that they could have processed the refund by now and we all would have moved on. Debating the negative review with me is just prolonging the fact that I still haven't received my refund, not to mention that it's just promoting more negativity.

Got a ton of FB messages on Saturday from someone else representing HOC. Will post them later if need be, but the short version is that they are unhappy about the negative review because I've only been waiting 1 day for my refund and not 1 month, and basically stating that they will do my refund AFTER I change or remove my negative reviews.

Correct me if I am in the wrong here, but wouldn't any decent retailer refund the money as soon as possible after it's discovered that there is no stock? I would also expect the retailer to keep me informed if there's any delay in refunding me. Or am I being unreasonable here?

As said before, I understand that they needed to wait for payfast to release the funds. They stated 3 days. On the 3rd day I tried calling, emailing, whatsapping and FB messaging to find out when my refund will be processed, and after all of those avenues failed I posted the negative review.
Just to add to what these guys said to you. Black mail is a criminal offense, but the consumer act states if a refund needs to be paid, should be done within 5-7 working days. You could possibly take them up on these charges for Black mailing, threatening, theft and also them going against the consumers act. Pretty serious matter for a store that’s not refunding people.

Wow this is the biggest load of BS I've ever seen, they cannot withhold your refund based on your opinions, the fact of the matter is that they took your money because they offered something they didn't have and now the fact that they holding your money ransom and will not give it back to you until you bite your tongue is unethical and it seems like robbery to me.
 
UPDATE

Refund was finally paid this morning. As I said to them before, I'll remove the review off FB (which I have done now) and I will be amending here. I'll also be changing the Title of this thread to something less damaging. While I still stand firm behind them being in the wrong, I would just like to move on from this.

Bloody crooks! Imagine holding your own money randsom for something they couldn't supply but still advertise as available even after the fact?

I'm glad you got your money back but places like this are bad news and should be avoided at all costs.

Just a pity the vendor was such a moron during the process and made it so difficult.
I will definitely avoid buying from them in the future.
 
Oh man! I wish I had seen this before... On Sunday morning I ordered an NCv2 on the house of clouds website, then paid by EFT shortly afterward. I emailed them afterward to say payment had been made. No word, Monday to Wednesday. Followed up via email yesterday. Still no reply. Have now tried to call and Whatsapp, and no response...

No word, Monday to Wednesday. Followed up via email yesterday. Still no reply. Have now tried to call and Whatsapp, and no response...

Finally got hold of the guy. He says its a website issue, and will refund me my R700. Let's see what happens...
