Formula 1

To be honest Le Clerc could have had it today. Verstappen is just on a whole different level this year.
Max is way too strong for Leclerc.
His talent is really showing this year.
Reminds me of Michael in his prime.

An interesting start to this season:
As the biggest RBR fan ever;I hope that Ferrari can get their car (and strategies) right this season to challenge for the titles. On one hand I am shocked that Merc have gone backwards and they themselves have already ruled themselves out of contention, but on the other (as much as I hope it would be Alpine) I am so happy to see that AMR have a strong car and team this year.

The Alpines, ATs and ARs should (judging by the first race) should make for an epic midfield battle this year.
As for Mclaren... No words...

Playing "hot potato" with the 3rd place trophy seemed the order of the day
FIA stewards making the whole thing a clown show. Alonso gets 3rd on podium - Then Russel gets the 3rd place trophy moments after the celebration ceremony... Only to give it back to Alonso 4 hours later:-D

As for McLaren... I have been supporting them for as long as I can remember. But DAMN they are making it difficult. According to Andrea Stella, McLaren Team Pricipal, they are expecting upgrades around Azerbaijan that should see them up their game (although they seem to be missing the fact that MOST teams will also be bringing upgrades around round 4), so I guess this will be another season where I bury my head in the sand when anyone asks who I support.

Red Bull in a class of their own. Apart from reliability issues, I don't see them losing much this season. Best we can hope for here is that Perez steps up and makes the fight for 1st interesting.

As for Ferrari... I have little words. Mediocre car. Sainz not producing results and Leclerc should stay FAR away from any casino as his luck is just plain bad.

What an anticlimactic ending to a ridiculous race (with three restarts!) this weekend.

A great showing from Max and Ham, both driving extremely well with the machinery they had. I feel so bad for Alpine as they had both cars in the points and Gasly (although it was his own doing) would have finished P5.

Again, Ferrari are their own worst enemy - if it's not the car's pace or strategy it's the drivers taking themselves out of contention. A poor weekend from them.

So after a month long Easter break teams have been busy - there is no mandatory factory shutdown (like the summer break) and teams have been working flat out.
Here's what I know so far:

Ferrari are bringing a new rear wing (but not much else) to Baku, focusing on internal team changes and efficiencies.
McLaren are brining a few upgrades but have conceded that there care are a long way away from being fast still.
Redbull are Redbull at this point.
Merc have major upgrades but don't want to bring them to a street track so they are holding off until Imola, saying that they have conceded and will probably change the design philosophy of the car.
But the most exciting news is Alpine; they are bringing a few upgrades to Baku that say gained them 0.6 seconds in the wind tunnel. Their car is already fast(ish) and if it's what they say, it could be a REALLY fast car going forward.

All this means is the next race should be a whole lot more fun and much less predictable. Although not really a fan of street tracks, I am really looking forward to it.

29 years ago today we lost a legend. Rip Ayrton Senna da Silva....
