Both carts have officially been ordered, paid for and shipping address has successfully updated to South Africa.
I have sent a ticket asking them to combine the two orders and to confirm what the final shipping amount will be.
They should answer the ticket some time tomorrow morning and I will update all of you here on the thread for any and all changes/updates/notices going forward.
Now for the bad news...
As I am sure many of you have seen, most of the items have a "ships in X business days" next to them and as a few of them have the dreaded 7 days in there, the earliest date on which this order will ship is the 17th of August (we have two weekends in between).
Now for the even worse news...
Anyone who has dealt with Fasttech before knows that those dates/numbers can change at the drop of a hat, so there is no guarantee that the shipment will actually be ready on the 17th. Furthermore, there are sometimes a couple of days delay between the "ready to ship" stage and actually shipping, or it can ship on the same day. I guess DHL has scheduled pickup days during the pandemic, so it is just luck of the draw if your order is ready on one of those days.
I tell you all this, because I just want to manage your expectations. Please don't hold your breath to receive the parcel next week simply because we are using express shipping, it just ain't going to happen. Be patient, it will get here.
Now for the good news!
1) We do not have to deal with SAPO at all.
2) DHL facilitates the customs clearance, so it doesn't get lost on a giant pile for ages.
3) Once the parcel does ship, the normal 6-8 weeks that the PostNL/SAPO route takes magically becomes a week or less.
I want to thank each and every one of you for making a daunting exercise go very smoothly. I had no trouble getting lists from anyone, the changes to lists were manageable and I managed to collect roughly R 34000 from a group of (essentially) strangers in less than 24 hours. You guys freaking rock.
P.S. nix on running the next one!

Second time I've jumped on a GB with you and as usual it is painless and seamless and most importantly transparent.
I've no issues waiting, my guess was that the package would be here by month end more or less.
And I've had the dreaded 10 week wait via postal route earlier this year!!
