Classic Wet Shaving

Hi. I'm 69 years old. I've always been curious about shaving with a straight razor or cut throat. Is it a hard technique to learn? My facial hair and neck and chin hair seems to grow out in multiple directions and I have to re-shave every time I shave in two directions. Would a cut throat be the same? I have a scar on my upper lip that gets bright and irritated if I shave to much. It is flush with the surrounding skin. Would a cut throat irritate it more than a twin blade razor. I've been using the Gillette Twin Blade razor for about 40 years. Should I just stick to that? What's your thoughts?
Is this any good?

Hi @Stew, A cut throat is really difficult to use. I would suggest a Safety Razor. I switched to a safety razor a couple of years ago and have never looked back! Take a look at https://www.bundubeard.co.za/ and get a safety razor, shaving brush, blades and shaving cream and bazinga!

Feather Blades are my favourite, but sadly, they are sold out.

Cut throat requires technique and patience. I use one but if I could do it all over again I'd probaby go the safety razor route too. Out of all the possible methods of shaving through, these twin, triple and fusion 5 pro blades are the least effective in my opinion. 1 or 2 passes at most with safety or cut throat is more that enough for the skin. Anything more is overkill. if you have a 5 blade razor and pass twice, thats the equivalent of 10 passes with a single blade.
