So it seems as though the Marquis is going to be a popular RDA around these parts and it has generated a lot of buzz in general.

I will move this thread to Reoville if the local bottom fed converter confirms it can be done for sure :D

This thread is dedicated to all discussions about the marquis (builds, wicking, advice etc)

Looks to me like a serious lung hit-, and not a mouth to lung machine?

Hmm so where to start....

My first build on the Marquis:

Dual Coil
26G
2.5mm ID
9 Wraps
0.56 Ohms
Rayon Wick

Initial Impressions:

- The flavour is outstanding on this atty. I would say it's tie with the Nuppin (my current favourite RDA) in this regard.

- Simple, yet effective airflow control, With a wide open airflow that's not ridiculously airy. The top cap slides around without too much fuss so adjusting is a breeze.

- Fairly easy to build on once you understand how to build on it. The pins that rest on the deck are absolutely genius and do a fantastic job of keeping the coil in line with the airhole. They also keep the coil in place while you trap the leads.

- So far I have had no leaks and don't suspect too many because of the design but I shall be taking out with me tomorrow and will report on this then.

I shall add a post with some tips/advice when first building the Marquis.

In the meantime, here are some pics :D

Certainly for lung hits I think @johan (although the airflow can be reduced to suit a MTL draw) but not for the crazy cloud chasing lung hitters who need extreme airflow. Wide open, this is like the least airy dark horse setting.

It does produce above average vapor but it's no cloud blowing RDA. Definitely one for flavour though.

Definitely sold on one of these. But alas... I need to wait for pay day to come around... again :D

Great info and build :p but for me it's the only atty I've owned that makes my juices come alive and picks up different notes of flavour ! Worth every penny

Guys just some tips when first building.

Rather build on your usual mandrel and then use the pins just as support. There's no 'stopper' on the pins to push your coil up against to compress them.

Try and plan where your leads need to be in order to trap them without messing up the shape of your coil by pulling and pushing leads once your coil is on the pin in the base.

If you're wanting to build and install both coils to look and install in the same way, you'll need to wrap the second coil in the opposite way your wrapped the first. So that they can mirror one another.

When you want to trap the positive leads of the coils, run them through the front of the grooves on top all the way top. Also make sure your leads are quite long so you have a way to pull any slack on and make sure they're sitting snug.

Look at this pic to see how I've got the leads coming to the positive post.

I had some difficulty trapping my leads under the Positive screw. I then remembered that I have a little Anima Dripper lying around. The Positive screw from the Anima fits perfectly. Trapping leads on the positive side is so easy now. The screw from the Anima fills the crown 100%

Awesome. Looks great dude! Just check, I think you have 9 on the left and 8 on the right.

This atty is definitely on my to buy list!
Wanted to order last night off Vapeclub, but saw that they were sold out already.

I had one in my shopping basket and thought I would come back today and add some other stuff and the stock is sold... Sad Face!:(

Okay so after my one extra wrap incident on the Marquis, my ocd gave in and I rebuilt it

Dual Coil 26G (which was more like 25G as it was thicker than my vapowire 26G but thinner than my 24G)

2.5mm ID

8 wraps

0.3Ω (according to the Sigelei so my guess is that it's closer to 0.4)

Rayon Wick

It's warmer than my last setup but the flavour is just as good. Vapor production is also more than before. Plus I don't have to worry about any extra wraps @TylerD @AndreFerreira

So pretty!! I just love how you take your time and make it look so nice!

I really should have read this thread before diving into the build on my Marquis... but that's what I do... bull in a china shop and when I start to battle and get ready to lob the device in the gorge I come to the forums and search for help...

But I have to say that this is a really difficult build (for the challenged like me) and unless you do a really good job like @Yiannaki you will toil like hell to get the stinking wick into the coils.

I used a 2,5mm screwdriver to make the coils (28g) and then used the little guides that it comes with. With a little patience and some light (and I battled because stinking Eskom stole my light and I had to build in the doorway to use the remaining twilight of the evening) you can get the coils in... but then getting the wick in is so not a simple exercise and you can't thread it and pull it through because there is no space at the bottom... I resorted to stuffing it through with a little screwdriver...

Fired the Sigelei up at 70 watts and was way too hot! My resistance of the 2 coils came to 1Ω because I figured I would try a reasonable resistance and use the power of the Sigelei to drive it... not only does the dripper whistle (and I mean really whistle) the vape is way to severe for me!

Tried 40 watts... still too severe... down to 20 watts and it's now manageable but the cloud production is useless. :-(

And drippers drive me to drink... too few drops and you get that terrible dry burn... too much and there is juice all over the place... drippers without a hole in the bottom to take excess juice away into a bottle are stupid!
